The Pro’s and Con’s associated with Victoria St.
Published 1 year, 10 months ago in Eat & Drink.I live close to Victoria Street - it has its pros and cons. Pros = Thy Thy* and Ha Long Bay’s* delicious, cheap and affordable meals that are delivered to your table in record time (Thy Thy’s take 1st place for this). Cons = Constant pushing of drugs - “are you jason?” - if you get what i mean! I think the pushers in Victoria St assume that if one (ie. myself) has a few tattoos, i must have a spare syringe in my handbag, ready to inject in a neighbouring alley-way. I understand, the taboo associated with tattoos, but their assumption couldn’t be farther from the truth. This is taking the joy out of dining in Victoria Street.

I also live close by & love the diversity on Vic St! Its great!
Another fantastic restaurant is ‘Oriental Spirit’ -Thai food -tasty & cheap & Ken is great! -its near the Salvation Army shop….A MUST TRY!!!
Hey it seems like Thy Thy has been there forever. Are there any new establishments I should check out?
Yes, ‘Oriental Spirit’ (thai / asian cuisine)
I enjoy the pho soup at the store with a cartoon-ish Chicken and Cow as their sign. Apologies for the vagueness, I have a hard time remembering all the names of places I like along there.
I also like finding bizarre drinks to use as mixers or in cocktails for my friends. I’ve tried basil seed honey drink (which looks spectacular and tastes like honey) and CC LA France (haven’t tried it yet but from the label I’m expecting still water infused with pears).
For great Viet food, try Quan at 88 Victoria St.
